I recently came across Seoirse Kavana‘s (great name) menswear collection titled ‘Urban Survival’ at Not Just A Label. The use of ‘weather proof’ fabrics, alongside ‘delicate knitwear’ and chiffon, is very interesting. Featuring creative cuts and intricate knit detailing, the collection was inspired by horror and post-apocalyptic movies.

I must say this is my favourite item of clothing from all the recent graduates from my alma mater – University for the Creative Arts. Megan Macintosh studied BA (Hons) Fashion Atelier (in Rochester campus, Kent). I love her modern interpretation of the trench coat, with the leather harness, giving it a slight bondage-y look.

I love these looks from Ross Williams’ graduate collection (Kingston University), especially the jacket/cape hybrid.

I only tend to blog the stuff that I do or anything that I’m involved in but there are some exciting and inspiring things that are just too good, that it has to be blogged. MVIO‘s A/W 2011 collection is very exciting, the colour palette is great and it is very utilitarian. The abundance of pockets makes it very practical and who wouldn’t adore the aprons, though you would be very careful not to use it in the kitchen.

Incredible images for Eugene Lin’s A/W 2011 lookbook. Photographed by Paolo Zerbini, which includes double exposure shots using an analog camera (so I’ve been told) giving the images a sense of mystery and eeriness. Check Eugene Lin‘s website to see the rest of the images and to view the A/W 2011 collection, titled ‘MEDUSA’.
DESIGNER: Eugene Lin | PHOTOGRAPHER: Paolo Zerbini | STYLIST: Nobuko Tannawa | HAIR & MAKE UP: Elizabeth Hsieh
Look 1 - Desdemona coat + Damita scarf
INSPIRATION: The tragic story of Medusa and the psychological anger she represents.
STYLE: Medusa is a change in direction for the brand. Eugene Lin is going for a slightly tougher and visceral feel as a contrast to the signature cut and drape. Definitely more showstopper.
SILHOUETTE: slim, sophisticated and sensuous.
COLOURS/FABRIC CHOICE: Chocolate brown, black and emerald green in herringbone suiting, embossed leather and silk jersey. The new collection features stunning engineered digital prints.
Look 2 - Darcelle coat + Daphane scarf + Daelyn trouser
Look 8 - Diane top + Delores skirt
Look 12 - Demi dress + Daryl leggings
Look 14 - Dahlia dress
